Mounjaro (Trizepatide) is another popular weight loss treatment within the same class as Semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus.) Like Semaglutides, Mounjaro is also an incretin mimetic. However, Mounjaro works differently by acting on GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Semaglutide only works on the GLP-1 receptor. Both drugs are used for treating type-2 diabetes.
As a dual-acting GIP and GLP-1, Mounjaro lowers fasting and postprandial glucose concentrations. In addition, Mounjaro decreases food intake, reduces body weight, improves the health of patients, and overall enhances their quality of life.
Semaglutides like Ozempic or Wegovy are only GLP-1 receptor agonists. Therefore, they bind only to the GLp-1 receptor and stimulate insulin release from the pancreas. As a result, this prescription drug slows digestion, allowing you to feel fuller for longer without overeating.
It is important to note that you should never use these medicines with other GLP-1 or GIP receptor agonists.

Semaglutide can help reduce abdominal fat if you combine the injections with a healthy diet and daily exercise. The effectiveness of Wegovy in reducing belly fat may vary from person to person. Results depend on factors like age, sex, genetics, and lifestyle habits.
The speed at which Semaglutide works for weight loss varies per patient. Some notice the effects after the initial dose. Others may need more sessions and time to start seeing changes.
Clinical trials have shown Semaglutide is an effective obesity treatment. Patients receiving a 2.4 mg dose lost a mean of 6% of their weight after three months. After six months, the majority of patients in a cohort study lost 5-10% of their weight.2 Some even lost 20% or more.

Not everyone is eligible for Semaglutide. Doctors can prescribe it for adults dealing with obesity, with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30, or overweight, with a BMI greater than 27, and with weight-related medical issues, including high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol.
Semaglutide is a weight loss medication that increases metabolism. This means that it helps the body burn more calories and fat fast. This leads to weight loss. In the traditional sense, though, Semaglutide is not a fat burner like those typically available OTC.

I pulled up like Macaulay Culkin and 2 weeks later, today, I look like Ryan Gosling during his prime. I could not recommend her more!!!!!!

Angel at Skinney Medspa on 5th avenue is so talented and knowledgable! She took time to explain the procedure, talked to me about the long-term goals I have and didn’t try to push more of anything on me. I have been a customer since 2015. I have been to both their Flatiron and the Plaza Hotel locations. I prefer the Flatiron location because it’s a large, high ceiling, beautifully decorated loft space. Each treatment room is spacious with lovely decor. Very friendly staff, always accommodated me on short notice. I’ve had Restylane under-eye, by Dr. Hadley King here. Amazing job, Hadley! I’ve also had several laser peels called Clear and Brilliant done here. The recent one being yesterday. Still recovering from it but in my previous experience, within 3-4 days, the skin starts looking radiant. The redness stays for a day or two. My previous technician was Marissa. She’s no longer there. Moved to Miami, I was told! So Marissa if you are reading this, Hi! 🙂 Yesterday I got someone new who did a great job also. I like this place and recommend it!!!
Such a wonderful experience. The staff are all so sweet and friendly. I came in for a consultation for Clear and Brilliant, Lindsay was so amazing. She gave me suggestions for the treatment I should get (I was choosing between that and microneedling), walked me through the process, showed me really helpful before and after photos. I got my first treatment on Monday, the treatment itself kind of hurts but my technician was so so nice, supported me through the whole thing. I bought a package for the treatment which also gets you a nice discount!
At 21 I developed wretched, humiliating rosacea on my cheeks and on the side of my nose. I tried EVERYTHING. Every cream, face wash, concealer, topical…the verdict on Rosacea treatment is photo facial. I decided it was time to invest so in 2017 I got on Groupon and booked a promo with Skinney. I’ve been seeing Christine at Skinney ever since. the improvements in my skin condition are beyond what I could’ve imagined. Amazing!!! Susan did my botox – she was super professional and sweet. I told her the last time I got botox from my dermatologist, I got migraines for ~1 week. She catered everything to me and sent me text messages to follow up to make sure I was okay with advice to prevent them this time. I did not get any migraines and am SO happy with the results! Highly highly recommend!!!

Honestly the best and only place to go to in NYC for Medspa services. I’ve tried a lot of different places and there is nothing that beats Skinney’s professionalism, atmosphere, and price. They seriously have the best of all worlds, it’s a super clean and beautiful facility with great and personable technicians for sometimes the lowest prices you can find around , especially during promotions. Sarah and Zasha are both amazing so I would recommend them, although I’ve had great experiences with everyone here anyway honestly. Definitely go here, you will not regret it!
